ABOUT THE DISPOSABLE BAN
There's a lot of misconceptions and confusion about this "ban" on disposables - they're not going anywhere anytime soon, but they'll be new government guidelines that mean they should all become more regulated, healthier to the consumer and greener for the environment.
The ban includes mainly two things:
• Any "single use disposable" is going. If you think back to the original elf bars, crystal bars, lost mary vapes, elux bars or anything that was 600 puff that wasn't rechargeable, refillable or re-usable after it burned out. The key thing in the government's ruling is that anything that isn't refillable or has replaceable prefilled pods and coils is going. This helps stop the massive amount of battery waste too; lithium-ion batteries that aren't recycled properly can do serious damage to the earth and to humans, so using less and re-using more is always healthy!
• Anything that contains a coil that isn't changed out when you replace the juice or pod is going too. Heavy metal poisoning has been raised as a concern in coils that are used long beyond their life expectancy, without fresh cotton coils can deteriorate and become a hazard to health; more so when kids are jury-rigging older disposables and refilling them with burned out coils. These are more the old Elux Legends, Hayati Pro, Zap, PopVibes, etc.
The usual 2ml limits haven't changed - which is why the disposables we're keeping always come in a few parts - the 2ml "tank" with the coil pre-saturated full of juice and a secondary tank (that's usually 10ml) which feeds into the first tank. This how a 600 puff tank can be called a 5,000 or 10,000 puff tank. After 5000 puffs it's healthiest to simply replace the pod and the tank - just like you would a usual pod kit as extended use can damage one's health.
So what are the alternatives?
You can still have "disposable" kits - but you'll be keeping the battery component and attaching a new pod when it runs out. Things like the Pyne Pod, Dojo Blast, Riot's Connex and the Viscore are safe from the vape ban. These are the kinda' kits that you replace the juice-and-coil bit and when it runs out of battery you keep recharging it as long as you can. They're much more cost effective then the old "penny-a-puff" disposables too as a £5.99 elf bar would be lucky to last you a day, whereas one of these kits should last you a week!
And the even better alternative than that?
A proper pod system of course! A refillable pod system gives you more freedom to pick and choose your flavours, your strength, style and versatility. They're also cheaper to run (we have 10ml bottles of juice as cheap as £1 whereas 10ml of juice in a "disposable" can cost you a minimum of £6.49!) and the coils tend to last a damn sight longer too - reducing your costs to roughly less than £1 a day. Anything like the sleek and stylish OXVA, the robust and reliable XROS or even the cheap and cheerful Sonder. Treat these kits right and you'll be able to use them until the day you stop for good!
